Celebrations this year will be different to say the least, the Corona virus outbreak is forcing us to recalculate our methods. For instance, instead of having one big birthday party we do a series of small parties. Another important thing is we'll do the parties in our backyard, which forces us to do it at the afternoon. Noon in Israel's July sun is hot, and having the sea nearby only adds a higher degree of humidity.
Having that settled brought the next problem - cakes. Shirley spoiled the kids too much with baking, they can throw an expensive cake stating it's not good enough or as they prefer to say "mommy's cake tastes better". Once they do it no amount of persuasions will work, the sweets will go to the trashcan (because it's not good for the bitches) and hopefully stay in there (the bitches again...)
Beside the new parties method our lives changed too. I, for once, work from home. Actually I did it before too, but it wasn't official. Now I have the official stamping to it. The fact Ella thinks my work is on the phone is a bit weird, though I can't blame her. Lately I'm watching over other developers more than doing development, for some reason or another it's more efficient and everyone is happy.
Shirley tries to understand the contradicting directions coming from the government. So far the only thing we know for sure is that a headless chicken can lead a country. The correct sentence should be "is leading", but hope and a good dose of cynicism are the only reason to stay in Israel. We have a PM which is busy with 3 trial cases doing his best to avoid the court. The PM's son is considered the worst failure of a previous minister of education.
To summarize everything up, we're celebrating the 10th birthday of a goddess because we're not sure if we'll be able to celebrate her 11th birthday in this country at all.
Happy birthday Ella.
