As strange as it may seem, this year we're in the same state as last year. The house is packed, we wait for the school-year to end (kindergarten actually) and we expect to move into a new apartment. We still have a toddler running around trying to talk, currently it's Shavit, but differences were not found.
Everything is the same except for the things which are not.
The first is Ella speaks. By speaking I mean REALLY talking, asking questions, answering questions, and most important analyzing the data.
Beside making us laugh, talking added some new difficulties. The first, happens right on the morning. What to wear. It's a long negotiation which results in a "kid looks like a clown". Get the best dress, combine it with the best boots, and top it up with the best hat.
Bottom line, the bargain was lousy.
The second is there's no "secret - don't tell", anything you say or do would be broadcasted, some time in a mutilated version. Nothing said when she's around is safe. To add insult to injury, mistakes might be added, mispronunciation happens a lot (the best one was calling diaper cat (hitul and hatul in Hebrew) in order to distinguish between the two, cat became "diaper-miau".
The third difference is the year in the calendar. Which means none...
At the macro level,
It looks like Israel is in some kind of turmoil, but all the results are (so far) just some face changes. We have new ministers, nice people, who appear a bit clueless. We have a prime minister who's reputation as liar is only shadowed by his reputation for changing his mind. The Israeli politicians can learn a few lessons about manners from a dog.
The only none sense not shouted out loud is "make a country wide air-condition". While being a very good idea, it's not yet feasible.
Oh well, let's hope that by the time for Shvait's annual English blog some things would be on track.
