Not exactly war, it's a massacre of non-fighting civilians. A prime minister without the guts to do anything combined with useless ministers results in the worst.
10 days after Shavit turned 12, 2 days after Shirley's birthday - you don't tell a lady's age (especially if you're married to her, hence don't know it). We planned a visit to my folks, celebrating the end of the swimming pool season.
The plans were abruptly cut due to the incoming news - problem in the south. It should be noted, the south is not that far from us, only 4 hours drive. The news kept pouring in through the entire day, and the more we heard the less we liked it. I'm keeping a clean language, English lacks the colorful swearings Arabic and Russian have. In this case words fail to explain the feelings you have. I have cousins with families living close to the war zone. My sister lives next to a place where a missile hit. My colleagues, people with young kids, stayed in the shelter for 12+ hours in a row because they were under missile attack. We get constant alerts regarding shooting outside our settlement's wall - though it's business as usual. Living close to the occupied territories (in Israel) has some effects.
Days passed, after the initial grieving block the time to finish this post came.
In the meantime I found an ex-colleague was kidnapped after murdering his daughter in front of him. Seeing it on TV was too much for me, I turned it off after 30 seconds, and learned about it only the following day. Bibi, the murderer of 1400+ people in Israel, hasn't committed suicide yet. The only one responsible for the massacre didn't even have the integrity to state he's responsible. To add insult to injury he decided to attack the commanders who decided to take responsibility and say loud and clear "we wronged, the time for amendment will come when the war is over."
Actually it's not only the impotent Bibi who's destroying the country, it's the complete central government. Israel is not governed by anyone. Organizations of different kinds are supporting the refugees from the south and north. Local municipality took over the day to day management. The ministers and the parliament disappeared to thin air, the same people who blamed all opposition with treason became traitors.
My only hope is that Bibi will be forced to live with the mark of Cain while the Palestinians will learn from Egypt and do a peace treaty with Israel.
The honorable thing Bibi should do is commit suicide. But honor (and truth) is not his way, and never was.
